DR MIELE COSMED LAUNCHES WITH inter.PAL - DIGITAL POOLING
Dr. Miele Cosmed, one of Europe's leading FMCG manufacturers, has been using digital pooling with inter.PAL at its Hamburg location since 1 November 2024. The smart solution replaces the maintenance of pallet accounts with Excel.
With inter.PAL – Digital Pooling, incoming and outgoing pallets are digitally recorded in the inter.PAL online portal and transparently posted to the corresponding accounts (sender/recipient). Data can be entered either manually or by transferring your own shipment data or via an interface. Although it is possible for the parties to reconcile the accounts, it is no longer absolutely necessary, as all bookings are made in real time in the inter.PAL portal and are immediately visible to all parties. inter.PAL also organises the Europe-wide return, inspection and maintenance of the pallets.
From our Hamburg base, we ship around 100,000 pallets a year to destinations including Rossmann warehouses throughout Germany. Until now, we have documented the whereabouts of these pallets manually and with great effort, and organised the return of the load carriers ourselves.
Since the implementation of inter.PAL, we have noticed a significant increase in the speed of pallet circulation, as well as absolute transparency in terms of debits and credits – and all this without a large amount of manpower. At the same time, we have greatly reduced our transport costs, as empty load carriers no longer have to travel across Germany to balance our pallet accounts.
Reliable and on-time supply of high-quality Euro pallets
The FMCG manufacturer also benefits from the reliable and punctual supply of high-quality Euro pallets, which is ensured by inter.PAL's Europe-wide network of depots and thousands of customer spots. At each of these depots and spots, pallets and other load carriers can be flexibly dropped off and picked up as needed. Or, if desired, the load carriers can be delivered to the door in the required quality level (new, A, B or C according to EPAL/UIC and GS1).
We take care of organising, managing and returning pallets for Dr. Miele Cosmed, leaving the FMCG manufacturer free to focus on producing and marketing its high-quality products.
